Brooklyn Cortez
Brooklyn started dancing when she was 10 years old at GO! Dance in Ennis. When she was 12, she joined the competition team and worked as a dance aid for the younger students just learning the basics and foundations of dance. Brooklyn began teaching hip-hop and jazz classes when she was just 16. At GO! Dance, she studied all types of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, lyrical, and gymnastics until she graduated high school. After making the dance team in college, Brooklyn continued to study jazz and hip-hop and found a new love for pom!
During her last two years on the University of Texas at Tyler dance team, she served as the team captain. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree and while pursuing her master’s, Brooklyn accepted the Assistant Dance Coach position at the University of Texas at Tyler.
As an Assistant Coach for three seasons, she was fortunate to see the University turn from a Division III to a Division II institution. Brooklyn led the team in many NCAA competitions and competed at Daytona for the NCAA College Nationals.
